Today we have been continuing with our art work and as you can see the class room has begun to look a bit untidy. Some of us have finished our art and have been writing on ipads to say what we are doing and why we chose to do it. Some of us have chosen to do a 3D project and some of us are doing a painting but most of us are doing 3D. See you on Monday. Year 5 pupils. 🙂
Mrs Russell’s Big Writing.
It is bonfire night Or “Guy Fawkes Evening” on Wednesday 5th November and many of you will be attending fireworks displays over the next week. As we have been looking at how to follow and write recipes this week we will have a little creative play and explore what we have learned about instruction writing and write a recipe for a fireworks display.
Talk to your families about what a good fireworks display consists of and what makes the best displays.
Talk to your families about: bossy verbs you can use such as put, place, stir, assemble, dice, smear etc.; amounts you could add such as a dash, a smidgen, a vat, a cup, vast crowds etc.; and what you would add such as explosions, a guy, a bonfire, excited children ooing etc. Have fun!
In literacy we have been following instructions to make and bake Creepy Witch Fingers. If we were not doing that we were playing awesome card games whilst following the instructions, evaluating their effectiveness and in some cases – improving poor instructions on an ipad. In maths we were doing column subtraction and some of us did money subtraction too. Some of us got a bit stuck but Mrs Russell came to help and we used coins to help support the column subtraction! We have also been preparing our instructions for our exciting first site gallery exhibition. Looking forward to writing to you tomorrow! Year 5 pupils. 🙂 THE FINSHED PRODUCT!!
Year 5 have begun preparations for our art exhibition at first site art gallery on the 28th of November . We have been planing at home as part of our art, and as we have been to Kew-gardens and seen the Marian North gallery some of us have got inspiration from her paintings. We have really been thinking about the materials and shape. Looking forward to see you on the 28th. Year 5 pupils!
